Growing up in Tanzania with her parents and four siblings, Seleman faced significant hardships. At times, she would walk miles to find someone willing to buy the treats her mother made, all in an effort to help feed their family. Some of those long journeys bore fruit, while others ended in disappointment, leaving her family to survive on little more than sugar water.

The struggles she endured instilled in her a deep desire to help others facing similar challenges. Hence, Seleman made a promise to herself: if she ever found the means to assist those in need, she would do so without hesitation. Today, she is dedicated to that mission, actively working to alleviate hunger in her community.
